Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Top Picks

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has officially begun! I have scoured the entire website and found my top picks. Many of these items I already own and I know they are staples that are great quality and get a lot of wear. I will be updating this page with photos and fit details as a few more items arrive and I try them on, so be sure to check back often. You will note that I selected mostly basics and comfy items this year, as many of us are staying home more these days.

As a reminder, the sale opened on August 4 for “Icon” Nordstrom credit card holders and “Ambassador” level card holders can shop this Friday August 7. The shop dates vary depending on spending level, and the sale opens to everyone on August 19. If you are a Nordstrom credit card holder and are unsure of when you can shop, log in to your NORDSTROM ACCOUNT and you should see that info. I have also included sizing details so be sure to read so you know what size to order!

TORY BURCH CROSSBODY BAG: I love the neutral colors and it is a perfect size for fitting all the essentials. Tory Burch bags rarely go on sale and the savings on this bag is significant at around $120. The sale price is $149.90 & regular price is $268. I expect this bag to sell out quickly.

MADEWELL DISC NECKLACE: This dainty necklace is the perfect piece to wear by itself or layered with longer necklaces. It comes in both silver and gold and is under $20 during the sale. This would be a great gift, too!

CASLON ROUND NECK TEE: I stock up on these tees during the sale every year. They are perfect to wear alone or layer under a cardigan or blazer. The tee comes in tons of colors and there is a fun leopard print this year that I purchased. I find that the tee runs true to size and I am wearing a medium. The tees are almost half off during the sale at $12.90 (regular price is $25).

DOLCE VITA SNEAKER: These fun sneakers are a last minute, unexpected addition to my list of top picks! I saw them in the store and thought they were so unique. They have leopard print on the tongue of the shoe and rose gold accents on the side. The sneakers have some faux fur in the inside and are so plush and comfy to wear! The sneakers run true to size.

Also pictured above is the HALOGEN CARDIGAN which is really soft and runs true to size. (I am in a medium.) The color I am wearing is called “red pomegranate”. I am also wearing WIT AND WISDOM JEANS that have a hidden elastic waist band inside the jeans that helps hold everything in. I recommend sizing down if you are in between sizes in the jeans. I am wearing my regular size 8 in these.

MOONLIGHT DREAM PAJAMAS: I buy some of these PJs every year during the sale, as they are the only ones I wear. This year, there is a SHORT SLEEVE OPTION WITH PANTS, LONG SLEEVE OPTION WITH PANTS (pictured above), AND SHORT SLEEVE OPTION WITH SHORTS. They run a little oversized, so I wear my regular clothes size (medium) and they fit great. (I usually size up in PJs, but not in these.) If you are looking for some new pajamas, I highly recommend these! They are super soft, wash well and are offered at a good savings during the sale.

BLISS PLUSH THROW: I bought one of these super soft blankets last year and my kids still fight over who gets to use it on our couch. I also have given a few as gifts and they are always popular. The blankets are regularly $40 and are on sale for $24.90. Great to have on hand as gifts!

ZELLA HIGH WAIST LEGGINGS: This is another item that I purchase year after year. I have never found leggings that I like as much as these. They are high waisted and hold everything in while still being soft and comfortable. I find that they run true to size and wear a medium.

I have the leggings styled 2 ways above. In the athleisure look, I am wearing these LEOPARD ADIDAS SNEAKERS. If you are looking for a cute pair of sneakers, I would recommend these. They run true to size and are on sale for just under $50. Also pictured is the ZELLA ZIP UP JACKET. It has great stretch and pockets too! The jacket is form fitting and runs true to size. I sized up to a large because I wanted a looser fit.

I also dressed up the leggings with a CAMO TUNIC. The tunic comes in several solid colors if camo isn’t your thing. The tunic runs large and I recommend sizing down. I am wearing a size small. The BLONDO BLACK MOTO BOOTS I am wearing here are another unexpected top pick. I love the buckle details! They are under $100 and are waterproof as an added bonus. I have this outfit paired with the MADEWELL CROSSBODY TOTE which has a removable strap. The bag is just under $100 during the sale.

STEVE MADDEN WEDGE SNEAKERS: I have a similar shoe that I got a few years ago and wear them all the time. They are comfy and give you a little height with the hidden wedge. I sized up 1/2 size and would recommend that if you plan to wear them with socks. My color is called “taupe” but find that it is more of a grey color. These sneakers also come in a fun leopard print.

Also pictured above is the INDOORSY TEE. It has an oversized fit and I am wearing my regular size medium. I am also wearing the KUT FROM THE KLOTH ROLLED BOYFRIEND JEANS. These jeans run large and I recommend sizing down. I usually wear a size 8 in jeans, but am wearing a 6 in these.

BP JOGGER PANTS: This is another item I buy every year. These joggers are so soft and comfy! They have a snug fit with my regular size medium, so I sized up to a large for a roomier fit. I paired them with the matching BP SWEATSHIRT which runs true to size (for an oversized fit) & I am wearing a medium. Both items are on sale for $24 each and come in several colors and patterns.

TORY BURCH SUNGLASSES: The sale has a nice selection of designer sunglasses that usually are not discounted. These by Tory Burch are my favorite and are on sale for $99.

Also pictured above is a LEOPARD DRESS that is only $31 during the sale! The dress runs true to size and I am wearing a medium. I shared the TORY BURCH CROSSBODY BAG & BLONDO BLACK MOTO BOOTS in another outfit and love both of these versatile pieces!

Another affordable item I found is the pair of ARTICLES OF SOCIETY DISTRESSED SKINNY JEANS. They are under $50 and run true to size (I am wearing a size 8.) I paired them with a few different pieces from the sale. This STRIPED CASLON CARDIGAN has such pretty colors and is under $40. It runs a little big and I am wearing a small. The sage BAREFOOT DREAMS CARDIGAN is more of a splurge but so soft! It runs true to size and I am wearing a medium. I am wearing both cardigans with the CASLON ROUND NECK TEE. It runs true to size and I am in a medium. I am also wearing a medium in this $21 GRAPHIC TEE. The LACE UP BOOTIES pictured here came home with me! They are water resistant and run true to size.

I don’t have photos of a few of my top picks, but still wanted to share them.

KUT FROM THE KLOTH BUTTON FLY JEANS: I love the fit of this brand of jeans and find that they usually run true to size to slightly large. My store did not have these in stock, so I have not tried them on yet. I ordered my regular size 8 in these online and will update this post once they arrive. These jeans have just the right amount of distressing and are ankle length which is perfect for fall booties. They are under $60 on sale after a $30 savings.

BLACK WIT & WISDOM JEANS: I also had to order these jeans online, so I haven’t tried them one I love every other pair I have by this brand. The high waist holds everything in and the ankle length is perfect for booties. I ordered my regular size 8 in these and will update this post once they arrive.

SAM EDELMAN KNEE HIGH BOOT: If I could pick one tall boot from the sale, this would be it. I love the thick heel and the overall style of the boot. The boots come in both black and tan suede and are gorgeous! Note: these boots are not for those of us who have thick calves. I tried these on but they would not zip over my calves. (Ugh!) But, several of y’all asked me to share a tall boot and this is the pair I would recommend. The boots run true to size.

BP CARDIGAN: My store did not have this item yet, but I have purchased one of these cardigans during the sale the past few years. They are very affordable at around $30 and come in lots of colors. These are a little thicker than the HALOGEN CARDIGAN that I shared above. I find that these cardigans run large, so I size down to a small in this cardigan.

GIBSON BLAZER: If you looking for a new blazer, this is the one I would recommend. (Thinking about those of you on Zoom calls for work who want to look professional - at least from the waist up!) This blazer is usually $99 and is on sale for only $49 during the sale. I recommend sizing down if in between sizes, I wear a small in this.

The last item on my list of top picks not a fashion item, but I had to include it - the KIEHL’S CREME DE CORPS LOTION. If you have dry skin in the winter like I do, I highly recommend this lotion. It is really thick and moisturizes better than any other lotion I have used. This is a splurge but worth it during the cold months for those of us with dry skin. The lotion is only discounted during this sale which is why I am buying it now.
